Photomatix Pro

In the case of HDR image processing, we have some software. Most people use the Photomerge feature in Photoshop because it is already installed on their computers. But for those who really like HDR images, an alternative software of choice. The software is Photomatix Pro.

Master HDR photo, Trey Ratcliff, said that his favorite Software to process HDR photos is Photomatix Pro. If you are interested in processing the HDR photos using this software, follow these steps:


Step 1. Download Photomatix Pro
The first step is download Photomatix Pro. You can download for free trial everywhere you want. After installation process on your computer, you are ready to use now.

Step 2. Setting up a 3 or 5 images with bracketing.

DigCamWorld already explained how to prepare raw HDR images here, please read.

Step 3. Open Photomatix Pro and open the file you

When Photomatix Pro is already open, you will be faced with the main menu:


Click on Load Photos bracketed. By clicking this option, you will see a dialog box, then click Browse. Select the image file that you had been prepared.

Step 4. Fill out a few options.

Then came some of the following options:

Unless you're shooting without a tripod or a tripod when shooting your unstable image, Align Source Images option unchecked unnecessary. Remove Ghosts option is required if you you feel no movement of the leaves or other people or objects moving between the earlier photographs. While the Reduce Noise option is only required if you feel that using a fairly high ISO. For this I emptied everything. Click Preprocess.

Step 5. Tone Mapping

The main options will appear: Tone Mapping or Exposure Fusion, here we select Tone Mapping.

Under it there are a few sliders. There is no official standard for each photo requires a different tuning (and taste), you need some time to try here to find the right setting. I use the following settings:

Step 6.   Contrast and Sharpening

Next box that appears is the Contrast, Color and Sharpening.

From the name I think it's pretty obvious, silhkan changed according to taste your eyes. Click Done when you are quite satisfied.

HDR IMAGE

HDR Photo (High Dynamic Range) is images are obtained by combining several images with varying tone to produce an image that has the tonal range beyond the original capabilities of the camera.

Before it can be processed, we have to make some raw images with different exposures, the number of images required is between three to five pieces. Here are practical steps:

1. Since we will mix up multiple photos at once, use a tripod so that the results are sharp and not shaded
2. Set the camera in aperture priority mode (A or Av), with this mode you select the aperture and the camera was the one that determines the shutter speed
3. Set focus on the position of the manual focusing. Try some snap to determine the focus in autofocus mode, after we set the focus, change the focusing mode to manual
4. Set automatic bracketing on the camera to produce 3, 5 or 7 pieces of images with varying shutter speed (Nikon & Canon, for other cameras please refer to the manual):

Nikon SLR:

        Push the Fn button (position in the face of the bottom)
        Rotate the rear command dial until we see a camera in the LCD above bracketing
        Choose five bracketing (or 3, 5, 7 or to taste)
        Change position on the continuous release of high speed mode

    Canon SLR:

        Push and hold the Mode button to activate bracketing and AF.Drive
        Set Custom Functions 5 in the menu (or 3, 5 or 7, according to taste)
        Set the camera in burst mode

1. Begin taking exposure

   Note: the choice of how images are used depending on our needs exactly. Three photos in Photoshop will make the process much faster than 5, but if we have 5 pieces of the final image produced will have a smoother tonal.
